Joe Jackson the father of Michael has shown his true face even on the day after his son’s second autopsy. Harnessing the publicity of his sons death to make a dollar seemed to be the intention of his plea to the cameras and while also staking a claim on the legacy of the deceased idol. He declared he was back in charge "We have the personal and legal authority to act, and have authority for our son and his children."
With a notorious entourage in tow Reverend’s Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and co, each spoke on behalf of the Jackson family. Reverend Jackson previously had dealings with the Jackson’s during a 1975 meeting in which he tried to prevent Joe from taking the Jackson 5 from Motown label across to Epic claiming racial and cultural conspiracy on the part of the white-run CBS records. Reverend Sharpton was present during the notorious Jackson’s tour of 1984 in which it’s alleged he made of with tens of thousands worth of concert tickets and the sum of $US500, 000 from promoters after threatening to racially boycott shows.
Joe Jackson has lived apart from his wife Katherine for 35 years and refused to grant her a divorce even though it is her wish. His services as manager were terminated by Michael in 1983 and later by his daughter Janet in 1987.
He may be credited with building the Jackson boys into a musical force that are placed forever in the annuals of American music history but the brutal methods by which he did this in have not endeared him to his family and the international community.
