Michael Jackson was discovered unconscious by physician Dr Carlton Murray in his bedroom. He says that he tried for 25-30 minutes to revive him. He then frantically tried to call for assistance from his mobile phone being unsuccessful because he did not know the address of the Los Angeles residence. Dr Murray started yelling for help but no one could hear him, eventually he left Jackson running to the kitchen where he saw a chef and a security guard.
The problem was the phone was not working for privacy reasons and the security was the one who finally got in contact with 911. On arrival paramedics performed CPR on the 50 year old mega star before rushing him to hospital where he was later pronounced dead on Thursday afternoon.
Dr Murray’s lawyer Edward Chernoff strongly denied claims that his client had given an injection of the painkiller Demerol. The drug has been connected with triggering cardiac arrest on users. He insisted that the post mortem examination will completely acquit the doctor of any involvement in Jackson’s death. Chernoff declared to ABC-TV Show ‘Good Morning America’, "I can state unequivocally there was no Demerol. There was no Demerol administered by Dr Murray and no one observed him using Demerol.”
Police interviewed Murray for three hours with Mr Chernoff present, after Jackson was declared dead The Los Angeles Police homicide and robbery squad said that Dr Murray is not a suspect and that his statement has assisted greatly with their investigation.
