At age 13 she got her first guitar and by sixteen she was performing in local clubs. At 19 she recorded her first album 'Frank' named after her pet dog. This was released in 2003 in the UK (and 2007 in the US) and is widely recognized as an excellent debut album with sales over 2 million. 'Back to Black', her second album released in October 2006, with singles 'Rehab', and 'You know I'm No Good' lead the way to five Grammy awards in 2008 - a new record for a British female artist. Her controversial lifestyle has lead to much media criticism, but her unique raw innovative style is the best thing we've heard in years.
