Moby
Bio:Moby was born Richard Melville Hall on September 11, 1965, in Harlem, New York. His musical career began as a teenager where he was raised in Darien, Connecticut. After eight Top 40 techno singles in the UK during the 90s, he released his biggest success album Play. Released in 1999, Play sold 9 million copies worldwide.
His parents nicknamed him Moby as a child, after the novel Moby-Dick, which was written by Herman Melville, his great-great-great-great uncle. Moby plays keyboard, guitar, bass guitar and drums. He has received attention for his political, environmental and religious beliefs, which he has outlined in the liner notes of his albums.
